Some were just scared and flea infested when we rescued them and others were very sick with respiratory infections at just a few weeks old. Every cat we rescue is rehabilitated with the best veterinary care and spayed or neutered between 4 to six months of age. Please remember that animals cannot remove themselves from the life they have and it is up to us to do everything in our power to give them the loving home they deserve. As of now due to over population there are more than 4 million pets being euthanized in shelters simply because of the lack of homes. Please spay or neuter your pets and always adopt from your local shelter.

I have actually heard similar stories from friends who have dated officers. They have told me that they treated their animals very harshly and the relationship would turn out to be a controlling, ego filled nightmare. I feel that there is often more corruption when it comes to “authority figures” in our times however I also have faith that there are the ones who are the silver lining that actually protect and serve no matter human or 4 legged friend ect. I am thrilled to say there is a small town near me that has an exceptional team of officers who are outstanding when it comes to going above and beyond the call of duty.Their town was one of the first to ban road side animal sales thanks to their wonderful Mayor!
If only all places could be so awesome!

They’re just looking for an outlet so they can “play God”. I have 2 relatives who are cops and both are very difficult to get along with. One of them retired after 20 years but is now the head of the city animal shelter, and states “I hate dogs” and many die every week. A psychiatrist I worked with once knew I had a date with a cop and begged me not to go out with him because of their classic personality disorders. Well, I had one date with him before he turned into a soul-less, cruel freak. So these stories do not surprise me at all. It’s a shame that we have to protect our dogs from cops. What is the world coming to?

Reporting abuse can be intimidating, especially when you feel like nothing is getting done or your local law office is acting like they couldn’t care less. I personally have faced issues with some of our state’s police officers not willing to respond to animals in desperate need of food, water and medical attention. Once you have given law enforcement the chance to act and they tell you there is nothing they can do, go to google.com and start searching for your states SPCA and any other animal organization dedicated to protecting and serving animals in need. Also, PETA (757) 622-7382 has served me well anytime I needed them to step in or simply guide me through the process that the police should have taken care of.

No matter what, always be persistent and never be afraid to stand up for those who can’t. You know if you were in the same situation you would want someone to come to your aid. Don’t be that person who sits back and says “not my problem” because when you do, you are allowing evil to manifest and ruin a life or lives that could have been saved with a simple phone call.
